Are
you Tired of the same Team winning your Scramble Tournament year after year?
NET
Scrambles are simple for LeaderBoard Handicap and to administer. The ideal Team
handicap would be to apply a percentage of each member of the team his/her handicap
to come up with a Team Handicap; however, nearly half of the players in a charity
tournament do not have an established handicap. Through our in depth analysis;
LeaderBoard Tournament Systems has developed a Team Callaway Day Handicap designed
specifically for a scramble format. Our Team Callaway Day Handicap is THE solution
to level the playing field more so than any other method.
The
Scramble Format is the most common format in charity golf tournaments primarily
due to the skill level of the players and the ease of scoring it. LTS Leaderboard
scores a tournament very quickly and 100% accurately. This feature should at least
open the discussion with your committee to take a look at other formats that golfers
prefer to play. Other options can also open up new sources of revenue to fund
raisers.
| Side
Games: The Secret Fund Raiser - Skins and Deuce Pots are popular side games
for the weekend golfer, have them enter these games at registration and split
the pot with these participants. Don't know what these games are, your LTS consultant
will be happy to explain and your golfers will enjoy the added touch. |
LTS
LeaderBoard has scored (but it is not limited to) the following golf tournament
formats. LTS can help you and your committee to determine the best format for
your guests and sponsors. Perhaps the Scramble is the best format, but it is good
to know what options are available and what to ask your golfers for next years
event.
Advantages
of more complex formats are that when they are properly structured the pace of
play can actually be faster than a Scramble format. When you use other formats
you can make available Individual competition for those more serious players and
charge an additional small entry fee.
Types
of Tournaments: Amateur, Pro-Am, Celebrity-Am, Golf-A-thon, Horse Race, Shootouts,
