How You Can Make A Difference

There are three simple ways in which to add your support to one of the many charities and organizations throughout Los Angeles and beyond.

You can provide one or more or your Time, Talents and Treasures to various causes and together with other individuals you will make a difference.

Donate:

  • Time - Volunteer yourself for one day; one day a week, one day a month or one day out of the year to assist anyway you can. Manpower is one of the most valuable assets that make an organization go. Most charities will train you in ways that you can help and they are always willing to find you rewarding work to fit your personal schedule. Looking for a place to volunteer?

  • Talents -Providing professional goods and services at a discount or for free, can go a long way to adding a professional touch to any fund raiser. As the Salvation Army states, "men and women who voluntarily use their professional skills and knowledge of the community to make a practical difference for their neighbors, strengthens charities ability to serve."

By pooling business partners talents together to help those in need further strengthens the bonds of the community and inspires others to find more and innovative ways to help.

  • Treasures - Donations of "any" size combined with other donations create greater buying power for all charities and organizations. For example: A group of 10 people formed a Charity Support Group that meets one day every month to socialize and pool their small donations to make one large donation to a different charity each month.

Other suggestions of financial donations:

  • Air Miles
  • Car, boat or other vehicles
  • Clothing and basic household goods
  • Charitable Remainder Trust
  • Gift Annuity
  • Stocks

These are just a few examples of donations, if you have an idea or suggestion, we would like to hear from you. The important thing is to get to know your neighbors, get involved with your community. You will be surprised to know that together we can all make a difference in building a better community. One we can all be proud of for generations to come.
